I’m David H Weinberger and I grew up in Rocky Point, New York, spent most of my teenage and adult life in Salt Lake City, Utah, and landed in Germany seven years ago. While I have no plans to return to the States, Germany has become a comfortable home to base my life of nomadic exploration. My dedication to writing is the capstone to a life surrounded by books and reading. Even before I learned to read, I gravitated to books as solace from a world I did not understand, and saw as cruel and unjust. Reading offered clarity and respite, and as I grew, I longed to be an author capable of exploring life’s riddles and challenges through the written word. Aside from occasional flirtations writing poetry throughout my youth though, it was not until my move to Germany that I finally put pen to page, leaving behind my career as kindergarten teacher. I now write short stories for English-based literary journals and many are linked at davidhweinberger.com.
