I grew up in Schleswig-Holstein, spent a year in Australia as an exchange student and studied Media Arts (BA) in London for three years. During this course I wrote my first script for a short film which was screened at a number of small festivals. It was a great experience to see a story on the screen that had previously only been in my head and to hear the audience laugh in the right places.
After several work experience placements on film sets, I moved to Stuttgart for my first permanent job as a staff editor at an educational publishing company where I looked after English language DVDs for use in schools all over Germany. So far, I’ve written or co-written the scripts for about 80 short episodes. To professionalise my craft, I gained an MA in screenwriting through a part-time course at a university in England.
In 2015 I moved to Berlin as a freelancer where I still work on educational products but also teach screenwriting and write my own feature film scripts. My favourite genres are comedy and drama and I’m especially interested in writing unique female characters.
