I guess I have only recently started to think of myself as a writer. I've always written, but for many years that was non-fiction only: journalism, political pieces, copywriting, translating. What's changed for me over the past five years is that I have discovered a community of creative writers, both in Berlin and beyond, and that has been extremely liberating both in terms of feedbackand support, but also regarding my own confidence and growth as a writer. My debut novel, New Clone City, was published in 2018, and since then I have been working on a sequel, as well as on a collection of poetry. Most of my writing these days is around the topic of the catastrophic climate breakdown that we are currently facing. Obviously, future generations are going to have to deal with what we bequeath them, and the time for action is now. However, writing has given me a means of reflecting on the issue from different perspectives, and for that, Iām extremely grateful.
