Hey, I’m Tessa Scott, born and raised in the harbour city of Auckland in Aotearoa. After a ten-year stint in Sydney, the north German port city of Hamburg has been home for over a decade. My undergraduate degrees in painting and design, were followed by my MA in creative writing, which focused on cross-disciplinary image making in poetry and short story. Selected work, as featured on Books without Covers, The Local Germany, long-listed for the Berlin Writing Prize and published by Sydney University Press, is archived at http://lettersfromhamburg.com

I see poetry as reflecting what is unfolding in front of me, it’s my fleeting, subjective truth. I’ve read my poems in shop windows, on nightclub stages, and as a guest of the European Poetry Biennale in the Transylvanian mountains. I was short-listed for the Mslexia 2020 Poetry Competition and the 2021 Fish Poetry Prize. My first poetry collection “Dream Houses” is published by indie press Kelsay Books in California and can be ordered from my website http://www.tessascott.net or Amazon Europe.
