Yessica
My name is Yessica Klein, I'm a half-Brazilian, half-German writer and artist based in Berlin, Germany, after years living in São Paulo, London, Liverpool, and Lisbon. I have a MA in Creative Writing from Kingston University (London, UK) and I was shortlisted for the 2017 Jane Martin Poetry Prize (Girton College, Cambridge University, UK). My writing has been featured on The Moth, 3:AM, SALT, Polaroid Originals, Kaltblut Magazine, and many more.
I write mostly poetry, although I also do interviews and personal essays too. I am fascinated by people and human nature, and those are two of my most inspiring, recurring themes. I am also interested in the poetics of everyday life, to find moments of poetry outside the written word - which is the base for my upcoming podcast, That Poetry Thing.
